Bluebeam Max review
Bluebeam Max Review: Is It Worth US$590 a Year?
Bluebeam Max is Revu Complete plus Bluebeam's AI features, at US$590 per user per year against Complete's US$440. This review covers what the extra US$150 buys, what the Claude integration needs before it works, and how to decide inside the free trial.

Max against the other ways to put AI on drawings
Prices are vendor list prices, read from each vendor's own pricing page. Max is the only option here that keeps you inside Revu.
| Tool | Best for | Price (vendor list, Oct 2026) |
|---|---|---|
| Bluebeam Max | Revu teams that want AI review, comparison, stitching and Magic Markups inside the Revu they already use. | US$590 per user per year (introductory price) |
| Bluebeam Complete | The full Revu toolset, including advanced editing and Quantity Link, without the Max AI features. | US$440 per user per year |
| Togal.AI | AI-first automated takeoff for estimators, with quantities exported to their estimating software. | US$299 per user per month, billed yearly (Growth); custom for 4+ users |
| ContractorCounter | Subcontractors and small teams: mark up, measure and count in the browser (Windows, Mac, iPad), then price a Bill of Quantities into a quote. | Free preview; Pro US$1 a week per person, billed US$4 every 4 weeks, or US$39 a year; Lifetime US$78 one-time |
| PlanSwift | High-volume takeoff with assemblies for a Windows office. It cannot be installed directly on a Mac. | US$2,000 (Essential) or US$3,000 (Core) per seat per year |
What Max adds over Complete
Bluebeam lists six additions: AI integration through MCP, AI drawing reviews, AI drawing comparisons, AI multi-view stitching, Magic Markups, and Connected Studio Sessions with Revit. Everything else, including the markup, measurement and Quantity Link tools, is already in Complete. The question Max asks is therefore narrow: will your team use those six features often enough to pay for them? For the comparison tools Core, Complete and Max already include, see Bluebeam Compare Documents vs Overlay Pages.
The Claude integration, in plain terms
Max is what unlocks the Revu–Claude connection, but Max alone is not enough. Bluebeam's setup guide requires supported Windows Revu and a Claude subscription of your own, and the AI provider's usage limits apply. Budget for the Claude subscription, and check that the people who will use it work on Windows.
What Max costs over three years
At today's list prices, three seats for three years cost US$3,960 on Complete and US$5,310 on Max. Treat the Max figure as an illustration only: Bluebeam marks it as an introductory price, and the pricing page does not say what renewals will cost once that ends. See the full tier breakdown in Bluebeam Revu price.
Who should buy Max
Teams that already pay for Complete, run design reviews across revisions, and coordinate with Revit models. Drawing comparison and Connected Studio Sessions with Revit save time in exactly that work. If your firm reviews revised sets every week, the US$150 step is easy to test against hours saved.
Who should skip it
Subcontractors and small teams who open drawings, mark them up, measure, count and send a PDF. Max adds nothing to those steps; inside Revu, Basics (US$260) already covers the markup and measurement essentials. Mac users are the other group: Revu is a Windows app, so read how to use Bluebeam on a Mac before paying for any tier.
How to judge it in the 14-day trial
Bluebeam offers a 14-day trial without a card. Use it on one live job: compare two real revisions with the AI comparison, stitch a split sheet, and time it against your current method. If the Claude integration matters to you, set it up on day one, because the Windows and subscription requirements are where trials stall.
Where ContractorCounter fits
If what you want from AI is a first pass at counts and measurements that flows into a priced quote, that is a different job from Max's review tools. ContractorCounter does it in the browser, on Mac and iPad as well as Windows, at US$1 a week, billed US$4 every 4 weeks (US$39 a year). The AI estimating page shows the workflow, and the Bluebeam alternative page compares the two products row by row.
Questions about Bluebeam Max review
Is Bluebeam Max worth it?
For teams already on Revu Complete that review revised drawing sets every week or coordinate with Revit, often yes: the AI comparison, stitching and Revit-connected sessions target exactly that work, for US$150 more per user per year. For teams that mainly mark up, measure and count, no: Max adds nothing to those steps.
How much more does Bluebeam Max cost than Complete?
US$150 more per user per year: Max is US$590, billed annually, which Bluebeam marks as an introductory price. Complete is US$440, Core US$330 and Basics US$260. The pricing page does not say how long the introductory Max price lasts.
Does Bluebeam Max include Claude?
No. Max is required for the Revu–Claude integration, but Bluebeam's setup guide also requires supported Windows Revu and your own Claude subscription, with the AI provider's usage limits applying.
Does Bluebeam Max work on a Mac?
Revu itself is a Windows app. On a Mac you can use Bluebeam on the web or the iOS app, which have a different feature set, or run Windows Revu in Parallels. The Claude integration is documented for Windows Revu.
Can Bluebeam Max do takeoffs?
Revu's measurement and Quantity Link tools are already in Complete, and Max keeps them. Max's AI features focus on review, comparison, stitching and markups rather than on priced estimates.
Is there a Bluebeam Max free trial?
Yes. Bluebeam offers a 14-day trial without a credit card.
