AI quantity takeoff

AI Quantity Takeoff Software

ContractorCounter turns a plain-English request into quantities on the drawing: the AI assistant counts fixtures, measures lengths and areas, and sets the scale, then everything lands in a bill of quantities you review and price from.

Quantities, not just markups

The assistant's counts and measurements roll straight into a live bill of quantities (grouped by symbol, ready to price) instead of leaving you to tally markups by hand.

Built on real scale calibration

Accurate quantities need an accurate scale. The assistant detects and sets the drawing scale (using a higher-accuracy model for this step), so areas and lengths are measured against the right reference.

A takeoff cluster, not a black box

Pair the AI with the full quantity takeoff and cloud takeoff workflow: manual and AI tools share the same drawing, review, and quote pipeline.

Common questions

Short answers for contractors

How accurate is the AI quantity takeoff?

Accuracy depends on drawing quality, and the assistant is built to be checked rather than trusted blind: it shows every count and measurement on the sheet for review. The scale-detection step uses a higher-accuracy model on purpose, because a wrong scale would skew every quantity. You confirm before pricing.

Is ContractorCounter only for estimating?

ContractorCounter is focused on drawing markup, PDF annotation, calibrated measurement, counts, stamps, comments, and clean exports. Estimating can happen after the markup work is clear.

Does it work in the browser?

Yes: ContractorCounter is fully browser-based, which means it runs on Windows, macOS, and iPad without an installer, a Windows-only desktop dependency, or a virtual-machine workaround for Mac users. Upload PDF or image drawings, calibrate the scale once per sheet, and the full markup, measurement, and counting workflow runs in the tab, at the desk or on site. Because the workspace lives in the browser, the same drawing opens identically on every machine, so the office and the field are always looking at the same markups without anyone syncing files or matching software versions. If your team has been locked out of desktop-first tools on Mac or iPad, this is the structural difference to test first.
