Counts

Counting Items on Drawings

Count markups place numbered markers on repeated drawing items. A count session groups related markers so totals stay easy to scan in the Markup List and takeoff workflow. Counting works without calibration, since markers have no real-world unit.

Each click places the next numbered marker. Related count markers can be grouped and renamed for clear totals.

Create a count group

  1. 1

    Select Count

Choose Count from the toolbar or press N.

  2. 2

    Click each item

Click every repeated item you want included. ContractorCounter keeps the tool active and increments the marker number.

  3. 3

    Rename the group

Use the Markup List to rename the group to a trade-friendly label such as Doors, Downlights, or Floor wastes.

Adjust count markers

Select a count marker to move or restyle it. The marker shape (circle, square, rectangle, checkmark, triangle, or cross) and colour are set in the Properties panel. Group actions in the Markup List let you rename, resume, split, merge, or delete markers in the same count group.

Use counts in takeoff

Count markups can feed the Bill of Quantities, so totals stay connected to the drawing evidence used during takeoff. BoQ creation is included in the free one-project account; exports require paid access.
