ContractorCounter runs entirely in a web browser — there is nothing to install, and it works the same on Windows, macOS, and an iPad. You open a PDF drawing, calibrate the scale once, then measure lengths, areas and volumes, place count marks on symbols, add callouts and stamps, and export the marked-up sheet. Measured quantities flow into a bill of quantities, where the assistant can propose a rate for a line — never as a bare number, but with its reasoning, the market it priced for, its assumptions and a confidence level, anchored on comparable rates already in your bill and any rates you have saved. You accept, revise, or ignore it. Teams share a workspace by invite and mark up the same drawing at the same time with live cursors.

Pro is US$14/month, or US$140 billed yearly. Team is US$10/seat per month. There is also a Lifetime licence at US$249 one-time. Start your first workspace with a free account and no card, including markup, measurement, counts, BoQ and limited AI. Exports and sharing require a paid plan or, for eligible customers, a 3-day free trial that requires a card up front. There is no offline mode. It is a browser application, and with no connection you cannot open your drawings — if you work in basements or on remote sites without signal, that alone may rule it out. It is not a full cost-database estimating suite: there are no pre-loaded assembly libraries and no maintained regional price book. The rate assistant estimates rather than looks up — it reasons from general construction knowledge, using comparable rates in your bill and your own saved rates as anchors, and it states the market it priced for and how confident it is. If you have not set a location it prices a stated national average and says so. Treat a suggestion as a starting point you check, not a quoted price. It does not replace CAD or a document-control platform. And it is a young product, so the ecosystem of integrations around older desktop packages does not exist here yet.

If your shop runs on a specific assembly library, or you need per-seat desktop licences your IT department already manages, a traditional desktop package will fit better than we will.
