Compare Drawings opens two documents in a linked review view — pick a base revision and a comparison revision, and both panes zoom and pan together so differences stay aligned under your cursor.

Comparison works best when pages are aligned, scaled, and named clearly.

Start a comparison

  1. 1

    Open Compare Drawings

Launch the compare tool from the workspace menu. It lists the drawings available in the workspace.

  2. 2

    Pick base and comparison

Choose the original sheet as the base and the revised sheet as the comparison, then start the compare.

  3. 3

    Review together

Zoom and pan are synchronized between the panes, so the same region stays in view on both revisions while you scan for changes.

Record what changed

  1. 1

    Note the differences

The compare view is read-only. When you spot a change, note its location and sheet.

  2. 2

    Mark up the live drawing

Close compare, then use revision clouds, arrows, text, or snapshots on the working drawing to record findings.
