Bill of quantities
Building a Bill of Quantities from Markups
The Bill of Quantities is available on paid plans and turns drawing evidence into structured takeoff rows. Measurement and count markups can stay linked to BoQ quantities, so changes on the drawing update the takeoff record.

Measured lines, areas, volumes, and count groups can be linked to bill rows for traceable quantity takeoff.
Plan requirement
Free workspaces can mark up, calibrate, measure, and count drawings, but BoQ creation and linked quantity rows require Pro, Team, Lifetime, or another paid entitlement. Locked BoQ controls open Plan & Billing in Settings.
Usage limits
BoQ rows do not consume AI chat credits. Access is controlled by the workspace plan and billing status, while AI-assisted BoQ suggestions still use the AI assistant credit limits.
Create measured evidence
Start with calibrated length, area, volume, perimeter, or count markups. Give each markup or group a clear subject so the quantity is easy to identify later.
Add or link BoQ rows
- 1
Open the BoQ panel
Show the Bill of Quantities panel from the workspace layout controls if it is hidden.
- 2
Create a row
Add a heading or item row for the trade, work package, material, or counted item.
- 3
Use linked quantities
Where available, link the row to the relevant drawing markup so edits to the markup keep the BoQ quantity aligned.
Keep quantities auditable
Use descriptive markup names and group labels. A reviewer should be able to jump from the BoQ row back to the drawing evidence without guessing what was measured.
