Building a Bill of Quantities from Markups

Create a Bill of Quantities in the free one-project account. PDF and spreadsheet exports require a paid plan or eligible active card-required trial. If a control is locked after a billing change, check Settings > Plan & Billing for your current access and next steps.

Start with calibrated length, area, volume, perimeter, or count markups. Give each markup or group a clear subject so the quantity is easy to identify later.

   Open the BoQ panel

   Show the Bill of Quantities pane from the workspace layout presets if it is hidden. Three Panel and BoQ Focus both include it.

   Create rows

   Add a heading row for the trade or work package, then item rows beneath it with description, quantity, unit, rate, and category (Materials, Labor, Equipment, or Allowance).

   Link drawing quantities

   Link an item row to the relevant measurement or count markup so edits to the markup keep the BoQ quantity aligned automatically.

Use descriptive markup names and group labels. A reviewer should be able to jump from the BoQ row back to the drawing evidence without guessing what was measured.
