A measured line stores the geometry and calculated value for review and export.

Create a distance measurement

  1. 1

    Confirm scale

Set the drawing scale first — the tool prompts you to calibrate if the page has no scale yet.

  2. 2

    Choose Measure Distance

Select Measure Distance from the toolbar or press M.

  3. 3

    Click endpoints

Click or drag between the two points you want to measure.

  4. 4

    Review the label

Check the displayed value and adjust endpoints if the line is not placed accurately.

Keep distance measurements clean

Zoom in before placing endpoints. Small endpoint errors can become large real-world errors on large-scale plans.
