Use a known dimension on the page, then enter the real value and unit.

Calibrate with a known length

  1. 1

    Open the drawing

Choose the PDF page that contains a reliable labelled dimension or scale bar.

  2. 2

    Select Set Scale

Use Set Scale from the document tool group or toolbar shortcut.

  3. 3

    Pick endpoints

Click the two endpoints of the known distance as accurately as possible.

  4. 4

    Enter the real length

Enter the printed real-world value and unit, then save the calibration.

Check the result

  1. 1

    Measure a second known dimension

Use Distance on another labelled item to confirm the calibration.

  2. 2

    Recalibrate if needed

If the check value is wrong, repeat calibration using a longer, clearer known dimension.
