Area tools use a closed boundary and can show fill or hatch for clear review.

Create an area measurement

  1. 1

    Set scale

Calibrate the page before measuring — area tools stay locked until scale is set.

  2. 2

    Choose Measure Area

Select Measure Area from the toolbar or press P.

  3. 3

    Trace the boundary

Click each corner of the area in order.

  4. 4

    Close the shape

Finish the boundary so ContractorCounter can calculate the enclosed area.

Make areas reviewable

  1. 1

    Use transparent fill

Set fill opacity low enough that drawing detail remains visible.

  2. 2

    Name the markup

Use a subject such as Level 1 vinyl, External paving, or Ceiling paint.
