Dimension markups can show entered text or scale-aware labels depending on the selected settings.

Create a dimension

  1. 1

    Choose Dimension

Select Dimension from the markup toolbar or press Shift+L.

  2. 2

    Place the endpoints

Click or drag between the two points that should be labelled.

  3. 3

    Edit the label

Use the Properties panel to adjust label text, font, line style, and placement.

Use the right tool

Use Measure Distance (M) when you need a measured quantity for takeoff. Use Dimension when you need a clear visual callout on the exported drawing.
