Using the Dimension Tool
The Dimension tool creates a visual dimension markup. It is useful for communicating a dimension note even when you are not creating a takeoff measurement row.

Dimension markups can show entered text or scale-aware labels depending on the selected settings.
Create a dimension

Choose Dimension
Select Dimension from the markup toolbar.

Place the endpoints
Click or drag between the two points that should be labelled.

Edit the label
Use the Properties panel to adjust label text, font, line style, and placement.
Use the right tool
Use Distance measurement when you need a measured quantity for takeoff. Use Dimension when you need a clear visual callout on the exported drawing.
