Volume measurements should be named clearly so reviewers understand the depth assumption.

Create a volume measurement

  1. 1

    Calibrate the page

Set scale before creating the volume markup.

  2. 2

    Choose Measure Volume

Select Measure Volume from the measurement tool group.

  3. 3

    Trace the area

Click around the boundary that represents the plan area.

  4. 4

    Review assumptions

Use Properties or notes to record the depth or basis used for the calculated quantity.

Avoid hidden assumptions

Name volume markups with both location and assumption where possible, such as Slab excavation 200 mm or Garden bed mulch 75 mm.
