Using Snapshots and Erase Regions

Snapshot Region (G) captures a rectangle of the drawing. After capturing you choose what to do with it: copy it for pasting elsewhere, send it to AI chat as context, or erase the region from the visible view.

Drag a region over the page, then choose Copy, Ask AI, or Erase.

Capture a snapshot

  1. 1

    Choose Snapshot Region

Select Snapshot Region from the toolbar or press G.

  2. 2

    Drag a rectangle

Drag around the detail, note, or area you want to capture.

  3. 3

    Choose the follow-up action

Copy to Clipboard stores the capture for pasting onto any page or open drawing. Ask AI sends the region to the chat panel as visual context. Erase Region hides the area.

Use erase carefully

An erase region covers the captured area with a white overlay markup. It is included in exports, and it can be undone with Ctrl/Cmd+Z or deleted later like any markup. Review the drawing after erasing so important PDF content is not hidden by mistake.
