Drawing Rectangles and Ellipses

Rectangle and ellipse markups are useful for highlighting defects, revisions, scope zones, alternates, and areas that need follow-up.

Shapes support stroke, fill, opacity, and hatch pattern controls.

Draw the shape

    Choose Rectangle or Ellipse

    Pick Rectangle (R) or Ellipse from the toolbar.

  2. 2

    Drag over the area

    Drag from one corner of the target area to the opposite corner.

  3. 3

    Resize after placing

    Use Select mode and drag handles to adjust the box or ellipse.

Make the shape readable

    Set fill opacity

    Use a transparent fill when the drawing content must remain visible below the shape.

  2. 2

    Use stroke weight or hatch

    Increase the line weight for callouts that need to stand out, or apply a hatch pattern (diagonal, cross, horizontal, or vertical) to distinguish overlapping zones.
