Using Line and Arrow Tools

Lines and arrows are general markup objects. Use measurement tools instead when the line needs to calculate a real-world quantity.

Line style, weight, opacity, and end caps are edited from toolbar or Properties controls.

Draw a line or arrow

    Choose Line or Arrow

    Select Line (L) for a plain segment or Arrow (A) for a directional callout.

    Drag between points

    Click and drag from the start point to the end point on the drawing.

  3. 3

    Adjust placement

    Select the markup to move endpoints or reposition the whole object.

Style the line

  1. 1

    Select the markup

    Click the line or arrow after placing it.

  2. 2

    Change appearance

    Adjust colour, opacity, line weight, and style (solid, dashed, or dotted), and set the start and end caps to none, arrow, circle, or square.

  3. 3

    Use consistent colours

    Reserve common colours for common meanings, such as red for review issues or green for completed items.
