AI-Assisted Counts
AI chat can propose markup actions — counts, highlights, and area measurements — that you approve before they land on the drawing. AI counts accelerate repeated item detection, but they are suggestions until a human reviews the markers and totals.

AI-created count markers should be checked, renamed, and corrected like any other takeoff evidence.
Create AI count suggestions
- 1
Confirm AI access
AI chat needs an active plan or free access, with credits remaining in your rolling windows.
- 2
Choose a clear target
Ask for a specific item type such as downlights, doors, or floor wastes.
- 3
Limit the context
Attach the page or captured region that contains the items instead of a whole document when possible.
- 4
Review the proposal
The chat prepares count actions in a pending tray. Approve the proposal after checking the suggested detections — or enable the auto-approve toggle if you prefer to audit afterwards.
- 5
Audit the group
Use the Markup List to rename, split, merge, delete, or resume the count group.
Do not skip review
AI can miss items or count false positives. Check every marker before using totals in BoQ rows, quotes, or client-facing documents.
