Locked markups remain visible but resist editing until unlocked.

Lock a markup

  1. 1

    Select the object

Choose the markup on the drawing, in the Layers panel, or in the Markup List.

  2. 2

    Turn on Lock

Tick the Lock checkbox in the Properties panel, use the lock toggle in the Layers panel, or choose Edit > Lock from the menu bar.

  3. 3

    Confirm before export

Locked markups still export when visible; lock state only protects editing.

Unlock a markup

  1. 1

    Find the locked item

Use the Layers panel or the Markup List if the object is hard to select on the drawing. The list shows a lock icon on locked rows.

  2. 2

    Use Unlock

Toggle the lock control off, then edit or move the markup normally.
