Troubleshooting
Paid Feature Locked or Watermarked
Some ContractorCounter features depend on the current plan. Locked controls, unavailable AI chat, locked BoQ actions, or watermarked exports usually mean the workspace is using a plan that does not include that feature.

Plan gates can affect clean exports, custom branding, BoQ, and team functionality.
Check the feature
- 1
Review the locked control
Read the lock or status message shown near the feature.
- 2
Check billing settings
Open account or billing settings to review the active plan.
- 3
Retry after plan change
Refresh the workspace after subscription changes so entitlements can update.
Common locked outputs
Free plans include core markup and measurement, but exports are watermarked or ContractorCounter-branded. Custom branding, clean exports, BoQ creation, BoQ export workflows, AI chat, and team features require a paid plan.
Billing status
If a paid subscription is past due, paid outputs such as clean exports, custom branding, BoQ, and AI chat can be suspended until payment clears. Canceled, unpaid, incomplete, or paused paid plans fall back to Free capabilities.
AI usage limits
AI chat is credit-limited on paid plans. Pro and Team include 50 credits per rolling 5-hour session, 100 per rolling 24 hours, and 300 per rolling 7 days. Lifetime includes 30, 60, and 200. Settings > Usage shows current usage, reset timing, and top-up options.
