Getting started
Using ContractorCounter on iPad and Mobile
ContractorCounter runs in the browser, so there is nothing to download from an app store. The same workspace opens on an iPad, an Android tablet, a phone, or a desktop, and your markups follow you between them.

The same browser workspace on a tablet, with touch and stylus markup.
Open it on an iPad or phone
- 1
Use the browser
Open contractorcounter.com in Safari on an iPad or iPhone, or in your usual browser on Android, and sign in with the same account you use on the desktop.
- 2
Add it to your home screen
In Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen. The icon opens ContractorCounter full-screen without the browser bars, like an app. This step is optional.
Mark up with touch or Apple Pencil
Draw markups with a finger or a stylus such as Apple Pencil, the same tools as on the desktop: callouts, clouds, counts, and calibrated measurements. Pinch to zoom, and drag with one or two fingers to move around the sheet. With the Select tool, one finger moves a markup only after you tap it to select it, so moving around never drags a markup by accident. To select several markups, press and hold on the drawing, then drag a box over them; holding without dragging opens the menu. On a phone or tablet, one tap with a shape, text or measuring tool places it, ready to adjust with its handles; turn on Keep tool in the toolbar to place several in a row. Calibrate the page before measuring, as on any device.
Carry work between devices
Markups save to your account as you work, so a sheet you mark up on the iPad on site opens with the same markups on the desktop in the office. Nothing needs importing or syncing by hand.
No offline mode
ContractorCounter needs an internet connection to open drawings and save changes. There is no offline mode, so load the sheets you need while you have signal. Because markups save as you go, a flat battery or a dropped tablet does not lose the work already saved.
Tips for smaller screens
On small screens, side panels open as overlays and close when you tap away; reopen them from the rail icons. Very large drawing sets can load more slowly on a tablet than on a desktop, so see Slow PDF Rendering if a sheet takes a long time to appear.
