Measure wall and ceiling area as polygons, subtract door and window openings, and read the finished area back directly. Track and stud measure as linear runs along the same walls, so the framing and the board come off one set of plans instead of two takeoffs.

A worked example, with the math shown
Board math, shown in full: measure 412 m² of wall, deduct 38 m² of doors and windows, and 374 m² remains. A standard 1200 × 2400 mm sheet covers 2.88 m², so 374 ÷ 2.88 = 130 sheets, and a 10% cut-waste allowance takes the order to 143.
